This is an Invitation to all shooters with a valid ATT to bring their Restricted or Pro-hib single action handguns with their favourite Buffalo long guns to the Guelph Rod and Gun Club.
Firearms required for the shoot are late 1800s period guns: (1) Pistol Caliber Lever action Rifles .30 cal up .32-20 etc.; (2) Rifle Caliber Lever Action Rifles .30 cal up 30-30, 45-70 etc.; (3)Single shot rifles, .30 cal up 30-30, etc. Lead bullets only may be used. Targets are steel buffalo. 30 plus rounds per category. If you shoot all 3 of course it will be a minimum of 90 rounds. This is a 100 yard shoot.
Bring your spotting scope. Bring your shooting sticks both for sitting and standing. If you do not have shooting sticks, it may be possible to borrow some. Cowboy attire is preferred but not required.
Shoot one category or all categories. $25 for one or $30.00 for all the rifle categories including the handgun sidematch. Lunch is included. Prizes for all classes
George Catlin Revolver Hunt
Just like George did from his horse you will shoot any single action revolver .30 cal and up at Buffalo steel targets 50 yards distant. Lead bullets and 30 cartridges minimum required. You may use a single gun or 2 guns if you prefer.
This will be Guelph’s only Buffalo shoot for 2014. There will be no 100 yard sidematch at the May 19 Cowboy match.
